- Mission of Establishment
- Due to the impressive results of telemedicine implementation of four Taipei teaching hospitals, this has positive impacts on the off-shore island residents medical care quality and medical staff’s medical technology. The Bureau of Health has setup telemedicine equipment in County Hospital and finished building telemedicine system in off-shore health offices in 1999. All health offices can connect with Tri-Service General Hospital and consult their specialists in the time of need. In 2006, in order to promote off-shore island medical care level and to strive for treatment aging and medical education, we collaborate with Taipei City Hospital to provide telemedicine (remote consultation) and telemedicine education. All health offices and County Hospital and Taipei City Hospital can proceed with consultation.

- General Clinic － County Hospital arranges fixed schedule at certain clinic which equipped with stationary telemedicine equipment to proceed with remote consultation
Coverage： including every township health offices and County Hospital and Taipei City Hospital
Implementation Methodology： half an hour before the consultation, sent patients’ medical record and X-ray to PACS system through remote transmission. The other end of consultation will be able to view the patient’s medical record and X-ray right away. During the consultation, the doctors can engage in online chat whereas during non tele-clinic time the Emergency Room Physicians proceed with consultation mainly on emergency consultation purposes.
- Convene video conferences using telemedicine equipment, transmit speeches and pathology seminar through the video conference
- Proceed with telemedicine education – proceed with each and every pathological discussion and education and training
